DS Plumbing Creates Scholarship and Award to Support the Next Gen of Superstar Plumbers
We’re thrilled to announce that DS Plumbing has been fortunate enough to set up both a scholarship and an award for the next generation of plumbers at Algonquin College here in Ottawa.
The 2018/2019 academic year will be the first for this scholarship and award. We’re honoured to be able to take part in furthering the education of some truly incredible students.
“We are so excited to have the support of DS Plumbing through the creation of the new DS Plumbing Award and Scholarship,” says Graham Thompson, Manager of Major Gifts for the Algonquin College Foundation.
“We are so appreciative to have such community support of our young students in the Mechanical Techniques-Plumbing program and look forward to the inaugural selection of recipients for the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year.”
The DS Plumbing Scholarship and the DS Plumbing Award
The DS Plumbing Scholarship is to be awarded to one student in the Mechanical Techniques-Plumbing program who has the highest grade point average (GPA).
“The purpose of the scholarship is to reward and encourage these highly skilled recipients to continuing pursuing their goals,” says Dave, co-owner of DS Plumbing and co-author of There’s Nothing Sexy about Plumbing (Or Is There?).
The DS Plumbing Award will be presented annually to a female student who demonstrates a strong academic background and exceptional plumbing skills in the Mechanical Techniques-Plumbing program.
“We want to encourage women in the trades to continue following their passion and achieve their career goals,” explains Wendy, co-owner of DS Plumbing.
More Support for Future Plumbers
In our opinion, you can never have too many excellent plumbers. That’s one of the reasons we want to see this and future generations succeed in the field.
Establishing this scholarship and award has been a goal of ours for some time, and we can’t thank all of our customers enough for helping us achieve it. Without your continuous support, we wouldn’t be able to be so involved in our community with you.
