The cause is generally due to build up of hair, soap scum, toothpaste and grease that makes its way down the drain pipes. BioSmart is a product we offer here at DS Plumbing. This awesome liquid has naturally occurring strains of bacterial cultures that digest the organic waste in the drains and it’s recognised by the US EPA. It is not used to instantly clear drains (which most harsh chemical products say they do)-it is used more to maintain the patency of the drain using monthly dosing. The liquid is also great for using in septic systems too, helping to degrade the grease and oil and other organic matter.
If you would like to know more about BioSmart, give us a call and we will happily send you some information!

There are many ways for your toilet to tell you it’s not working at its best.

1) A damaged/old flapper in the toilet tank. These rubber disks cover the hole that lets the water into the bowl to flush away waste. If the rubber is degraded and bent, the water will get through and waste a lot of water.

2) A damaged tank gasket. This is the rubber seal between the tank and the bowl. If it leaks the water in the tank will end up leaking out and emptying the tank and also potentially damaging the floor below.

3) A damaged seal under the toilet. Seals that keep the liquid in the toilet and off the floor, can also degrade over time, thus causing slow leakage of toilet water onto the floor and through the floor.

4) A small crack in the toilet bowl can cause minor leaks over time and can look unsightly if left too long.
